Hi, I’m Ayaka — your local interpreter-guide in Amami
I was born and raised on the subtropical island of Amami Oshima.
I became an interpreter-guide to share the stories I’ve encountered here—through people, places, and everyday life.
How I learned English
I spent a year in California studying abroad.
After returning to Japan, I worked on U.S. military bases on Okinawa, where I used English in real, everyday situations.
In 2023, I moved back to my hometown, Amami.
I decided to dedicate my skills to this island — connecting visitors and local life through language and stories.
